Dr. Harper joined the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) faculty in 2016 and is currently working as Associate Professor in the Department of Neurology. She is also the Medical Director, Muscular Dystrophy Association Care Center in Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU.
Her areas of interests include developmental delay, hypotonia, muscular dystrophy and neuromuscular disorders. She is an advocate for children with disabilities and active participant in Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) events. She is a member of the Child Neurology Society and the American Academy of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine.
Dr. Harper obtained her medical education from American University of the Caribbean and completed her residency in pediatrics and neurodevlopmental disabilities from Vidant Medical Center and Oregon Health and Science University Hospital respectively. She completed her fellowship from Oregon Health and Science University Hospital. She holds board certification in child neurology and neuromuscular medicine.
