Dr. Cristian Ionita is currently associated with the Yale School of Medicine as Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics (Neurology). He is the Co-Director of Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital MDA Care Center and the Director of the Comprehensive Pediatric Headache Clinic.
He is interested in clinical trials in pediatric neuromuscular disorders and is currently the principal investigator of two ongoing clinical trials related to Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy titled “Clinical Trial to Evaluate the Efficacy, Safety, and Tolerability of BMS-986089 in Ambulatory Boys With Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy” and “Long-Term Outcomes of Ataluren in Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy” at Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Ionita completed his pediatrics and child neurology training at the SUNY Downstate. He later completed the pediatric neuromuscular fellowship at the UT Southwestern. His clinical interests are in pediatric neuromuscular disorders, electrophysiological studies in children, and pediatric headache disorders. He is currently accepting new patients.
