Dr. Hansell H. Stedman is currently working as Associate Professor of surgery at Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania. He is also associated with Institute for Human Gene Therapy, University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine as Director of muscular dystrophy research.

Dr. Stedman is attending surgeon at hospital of the University of Pennsylvania as well as Veteran Affairs Medical Center, Philadelphia. He is also a member of The Institute for Translational Medicine and Therapeutics (ITMAT) where his studies pertain to genetics and disease mechanisms in Duchenne and limb-girdle muscular dystrophies.

Dr. Stedman’s research expertise lies in genetics & comparative genomics of contractile proteins, integrative biology of skeletal & cardiac muscle, pathobiology & therapy of muscular dystrophy & cardiomyopathy and vascular approaches to systemic gene delivery.
