John Brandsema, MD, is a pediatric neurologist at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. His areas of expertise are nerve conduction studies/electromyography and neuromuscular/MDA clinic. He leads Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP’s) neuromuscular program which treats diseases such as muscular dystrophy (MD), peripheral nerve disorders, myasthenia, spinal muscular atrophy, etc. He also has a research interest in clinical trials for pediatric neuromuscular disorders.
John Brandsema completed his MD from Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. He did his residency in pediatric neurology from The Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Canada and completed his fellowship in neuromuscular medicine from Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston, MA.
