Nationwide Children’s Hospital is creating the future of pediatric health care. It is more than a hospital. It is one of the America’s largest pediatric health care and research centers, delivering care for more than one million patients. Families travel from around the nation and around the globe to access life-saving treatments – many unavailable anywhere else. They are 68 facilities extending out across Ohio and beyond. It’s the pediatric expertise every child needs. Here, the future health and potential of all children is being shaped. The doctors and researchers here are revolutionizing the child’s health and the health of future generations.

Years of leadership by Nationwide Children’s Hospital faculty in diagnosing and developing new treatment strategies for DMD led the National Institutes of Health to designate Nationwide Children’s Hospital a Center for Research Translation designed to accelerate new therapies for muscular dystrophies into clincial practice. The hospital is also part of the MDA’s Clinical Research Network for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. In 2014, it was named the first Certified Duchenne Care Center by Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy (PPMD), the leading advocacy organization working to end Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
