The Fighting Duchenne Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization. It was founded by Terry Marlin, father of Jonah Marlin and Emory Marlin when they both got diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy to fund research so a cure can be found.
Fighting Duchenne Foundation is currently raising money to start a research department at Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt to initiate the research so one day a cure can be found for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. It has already funded many research.
Fighting Duchenne Foundation is also supporting Vanderbilt in their efforts to improve care, advance cardiomyopathy research, and educate the primary care physicians and patients about Duchenne. The Foundation pledged another $40,000 towards research, in early 2018. So far, they have committed $250,000 to research at Vanderbilt with plans to continue working towards $500,000.
